1.       Commonwealth Games – 23rd July – 3rd August

Glasgow is the host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, so expect to see athletes gathering here from all over the world competing to win. If you are a sports enthusiast or a budding athlete yourself this is certainly a must-see event. It is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the world’s biggest athletic stars. This doesn’t have to be the whole of your holiday, you could see your favourite event and keep on travelling to experience all that Scotland has to offer – that is the beauty of a motorhome holiday there are many options available to you.

2.       Aboyne Highland Games – 2nd August 2014

If you want to immerse yourself in Scottish culture, you must pay a visit to the Aboyne Highland Games. The highland games have been held in the centre of Aboyne since they first began way back in 1867. People travel here from all over the world to experience these traditional Scottish games that include; shot put, weight over the bar, caber tossing, tug of war and hammer throwing. Athletes demonstrate sheer strength and skill that you will not forget in a hurry. There are also piping and dancing competitions, so it is the perfect place for people who are music lovers as well as sports fans.

3.       Stirling’s Big Weekend – 27th June – 29th June

Stirling’s Big Weekend is fun for the entire family, there is so much to see and do. One the 27th June you can experience Pipe Fest where hundreds of drummers, pipers, dancers and clan members from Scotland and the world gather. It is amazing to see and hear as there is a truly spectacular parade that begins from the entrance of the truly sublime Stirling Castle. The 28th of June is dedicated to Armed Forces Day, which is a national event. Here you will see many brilliant military displays from the Red Arrows. A re-enactment of the Battle of Bannockburn happens on 29th June and this is called Bannock Burn Live. It is one of the biggest events in Scotland and is truly spectacular to experience.
